Personal:

I was married in 1997 to my beautiful wife Lybi (confessions of a piano teacher on the blog), and we have 3 wonderful boys who are just as active as I was when I was little (he he). I grew up in southeastern Michigan, and my family became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 6. I attended BYU, and served a mission in Berlin, Germany. After graduating from BYU with a degree in Health and Human Performance (pre-physical therapy), I promptly changed careers and started working with computers (although no programming for me). We have moved across the country several times, and currently live in Mesa, AZ.  I work in computer security for a major nationwide homebuilder.

Lunch - another 5 miler outside.  It was nice and cool out again, but not as windy as yesterday.  I felt a little chilly in my shorts and tank while I stood outside waiting for my Garmin to get a satellite lock, but once I got going, I warmed up quickly.  For being in the low 60's again, which I consider to be almost perfect weather, I sure was sweating good at the end of the run.  First four miles were fairly easy - I was clicking off 7:40 miles without difficulty.  On the last mile, I picked it up quite a bit, and ran the last mile in 6:40.  Average pace for the entire run was 7:27/mile, due entirely to the last mile.  Felt good today.  I am taking a mini-break from P90X this week (because I forgot my stuff at my brother's house in Texas), so I am going to run every day this week.

Lunch - didn't have as much time today due to meeting scheduled before and after lunch, so I only ran 4.  Did my regular run north on Priest/Galvin Parkway, then left on McDowell to hit 2 miles, then back again.  Averaged 7:36 going up, felt a bit strained, but not too bad.  Went quite a bit faster on the way down.  3rd mile was 6:58, and I kind of pushed the last mile, hitting it in 6:38.  Average pace for the entire run was 7:10/mile.  It was gorgeous outside again - that is one thing that is hard to beat about Arizona.  Running in the fall/winter/spring is really nice - it's just the summer that is practically unbearable.

Lunch - 5 miles outside today.  Average pace of 7:26/mile.  My Garmin was low on batteries, so I didn't take it with me and therefore didn't know my exact pace until I finished, although I had a pretty good guess that I was somewhere around 7:30/mile.  Another glorious day today, mid-60's and sunny.
