Personal:

I was married in 1997 to my beautiful wife Lybi (confessions of a piano teacher on the blog), and we have 3 wonderful boys who are just as active as I was when I was little (he he). I grew up in southeastern Michigan, and my family became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 6. I attended BYU, and served a mission in Berlin, Germany. After graduating from BYU with a degree in Health and Human Performance (pre-physical therapy), I promptly changed careers and started working with computers (although no programming for me). We have moved across the country several times, and currently live in Mesa, AZ.  I work in computer security for a major nationwide homebuilder.

AM - 5 easy miles before work. I changed back from my 9 hour shifts so that I could run in the morning and have more time to spend with the family after work. Total time - 41:00, average pace 8:12/mile.  Felt good, just ran by feel as I didn't have the Garmin.  Felt a few small twinges in my knee during the second half of the run, unless it was all in my head . . .

PM - ran 1 mile with Sam in 10:07, small amount of whining involved.  Then ran 0.65 miles with Joey in 7:13.

AM - 3 miles with Sparky in 25:15 (8:25 pace), then another 2 miles by myself in 16:10. The run felt good, but my knee gave me a few twinges again. I need to make sure that I am stretching out good after my runs.

PM - ran 1 mile with Sam in 9:55, then 0.65 with Joey in 7:05.

AM - ran approx. 3.35 miles with Sparky in 27:31 - average of 8:13/mile. Not 100% sure about the distance, but I will take the approximation. Left arch was a little sore, so I decided to have that be it for this morning, and will do my miles with the boys this afternoon.

PM - ran 1 mile with Sam in 10:08, then 0.65 with Joey in something like 7:08.  Felt good.

PM - ran 1 mile total with Sam and Joey (ran with both of them at first, then dropped Joey off at 0.65 miles and continued with Sam to finish the mile). Ran another 2 miles with Sparky at 8:30 pace, legs felt good. Then I got to re-christen our trusty treadmill (I replaced the motor belt, which turned out to be the cause of all the belt slippage - hooray!) while Lybi ran outside - this was after the boys were asleep. Ran 7 miles on the treadmill at 8:34 pace. Felt a little bit of niggle in my knee, probably due to the high amount of mileage, but it didn't get any worse. Feels fine now. I will have Lybi scrape my leg later to continue to promote healing. Walked another 1.5 miles on the treadmill to cool down while I watched the rest of the Dr. Who episode. I need to do something about my arch as well, looks like I am developing a pretty good case of PF. I'll continue to roll it, and wear the Strassburg Sock (once I wash it, that is).
