Personal:

I was married in 1997 to my beautiful wife Lybi (confessions of a piano teacher on the blog), and we have 3 wonderful boys who are just as active as I was when I was little (he he). I grew up in southeastern Michigan, and my family became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 6. I attended BYU, and served a mission in Berlin, Germany. After graduating from BYU with a degree in Health and Human Performance (pre-physical therapy), I promptly changed careers and started working with computers (although no programming for me). We have moved across the country several times, and currently live in Mesa, AZ.  I work in computer security for a major nationwide homebuilder.

Ran 6.0 miles this morning.  Was planning on running 7, with an original plan this week of running 7-8-7-8-7-8, but I realized during my run that would put me at 45 miles for the week, and that is too much of a jump in mileage.  Decided instead to do something like 6-7-6-7-6-7, which would put me at 39 for the week, but I will probably put in an additional mile or two on Saturday to get me above 40.  Also decided that I will be Lybi's cheering section for the 5K on July 4 so that I can continue training and put in some good miles instead of running a hard 5K.

James, are you running St. George this year? If so, it is time to start considering how to build up your longer runs? Say, 5,6,6,6,5, 12- (same 40 miles) Just my take on building up weekly mileage. We have started our build up for St.Georage and will be doing a 17 or 18 miler this weekend.

Yes, I am running St. George this year. You bring up a good point. I did the 10-miler last week, although that was really threshold pace, and am due for a longer run. I have been focusing more on the weekly mileage, and was planning on getting some longer runs in once I hit mid-40's (couple of weeks), but may very well do it this week as well. Not sure if I will be able to do it all in one shot or not (our anniversary is this week, and we are going on a date in the morning when it is still cool).
