Personal:

I was married in 1997 to my beautiful wife Lybi (confessions of a piano teacher on the blog), and we have 3 wonderful boys who are just as active as I was when I was little (he he). I grew up in southeastern Michigan, and my family became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 6. I attended BYU, and served a mission in Berlin, Germany. After graduating from BYU with a degree in Health and Human Performance (pre-physical therapy), I promptly changed careers and started working with computers (although no programming for me). We have moved across the country several times, and currently live in Mesa, AZ.  I work in computer security for a major nationwide homebuilder.

AM - slept in, let Lybi run with Christine.

PM - ran 13.0 miles on the treadmill.  I was watching National Treasure (one of my favorite movies), so it wasn't too bad.  Worst part was that in spite of using bodyglide, I got chafed.  Guess I didn't use enough.

Warmed up nice and easy, 8:30 pace, then sped up to 8:00 pace for two miles.  Had to stop at 3 miles because I had a pebble in my shoe.  Got going again and ran the last 10 miles at 7:30 pace.  Total time of 1:39:38, average pace of 7:39/mile.  The run felt very good, very smooth and controlled.  I started to get a little tired at the end because I hadn't fueled well enough.  I am happy about this run as well as my mileage this week, even though I only got in one tempo run.  I am okay with that.  I will shoot for 50 miles next week, and will set a goal of two 3 mile tempo runs at 6:20 pace.

Only a few more days to a new National Treasure movie. I hope it is at least as good as the first.

You're probably the first person to get a pebble in their shoe while running on a treadmill. Good job on getting the miles in on the treadmill.
