Personal:

I was married in 1997 to my beautiful wife Lybi (confessions of a piano teacher on the blog), and we have 3 wonderful boys who are just as active as I was when I was little (he he). I grew up in southeastern Michigan, and my family became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 6. I attended BYU, and served a mission in Berlin, Germany. After graduating from BYU with a degree in Health and Human Performance (pre-physical therapy), I promptly changed careers and started working with computers (although no programming for me). We have moved across the country several times, and currently live in Mesa, AZ.  I work in computer security for a major nationwide homebuilder.

AM - ran 3.5 miles with Sparky, somewhere between 8:00 and 8:30 pace. Started off nice and easy, around 9:00 pace and just picked it up throughout the run. Knee felt good. No pain whatsoever.

One of our vendors hosted a golf tournament today, which I went to - lots of fun, sprayed golf balls all over the place, good food. Even with carts, I ended up running around quite a bit. Not counting anything, but it definitely adds to the exercise.

PM - after I got home, ran 3 miles on the treadmill. Started at 8:30 pace for 0.25 miles, then picked up the pace to 8:00 pace for 1.25 miles. Bumped up the speed to 7:30 pace for 0.5 miles, then picked it up to 6:40 pace for the last mile. Felt good, still no knee pain. Yay!

Sounds like you are really being careful with your knee and it is being good to you. You have been ramping up the running and you look good. Good luck for St. George. Our temple is closed over that week-end and we should be replaced at the employment center so maybe I can babysit while you go.

Great job, James! You forgot to mention the cool little sunburned triangle on your chest. That's noteworthy, I think. He he he.

Glad your knee is being good to you. St. George is going to be great for you this year.

Yay! I think I can speak for Lybi in saying we would love for you to come watch the boys if you are available! We are looking forward to coming out there over 4th of July weekend. If there are any races over that weekend, I would love to know about them . . .
