Personal:

I was married in 1997 to my beautiful wife Lybi (confessions of a piano teacher on the blog), and we have 3 wonderful boys who are just as active as I was when I was little (he he). I grew up in southeastern Michigan, and my family became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 6. I attended BYU, and served a mission in Berlin, Germany. After graduating from BYU with a degree in Health and Human Performance (pre-physical therapy), I promptly changed careers and started working with computers (although no programming for me). We have moved across the country several times, and currently live in Mesa, AZ.  I work in computer security for a major nationwide homebuilder.

AM - I got up early this morning to run, instead of running on the treadmill during lunch.  It was actually really nice.  I got to enjoy nice temperatures this morning, and get things moving early.  The run felt pretty good.  No issues with the foot, but I did feel a little bit of tenderness on my big toes again from the new shoes.  No blisters, just a little bit of a hot spot.

AM - 4 miles outside, but I didn't get a chance to run until about 10 AM, so the sun was high in the sky, and it was already pretty hot out.  Had to put on the sunscreen and wear a hat.  It's getting too hot out now to run any time other than early morning.

AM - got up early again this morning for a nice 3-mile run.  Averaged about 8:00/mile.  Felt very nice to get out early, the weather was beautiful, and it was nice and cool (at least compared to how hot it has been getting in the afternoon).  It has been downright sauna-like these past few days.

AM - was originally planning on doing 3 easy miles this morning, but my right calf started to tighten up on me around 1.5 miles.  I stretched it out and ran a little bit more before deciding to not to any more to avoid injuring it.  I am seriously considering asking for a pair of VFF's for my birthday so that I can strengthen my feet and avoid having to wear orthotics.  I detest wearing orthotics - even if they are the Dr. Scholl's $50 ones instead of some rigid custom-molded ones from a podiatrist.

AM - 2.5 easy miles before work.  Felt good to get out and run again after deciding to not run on our vacation (although we did a lot of walking).
